So I find one of those ads for personalized books. You know, the ones where you get to rename the characters.

On a side note: you should be able to change anything in the book if it's just a replugging job. Can I keep the names, but substitute another word?

So I stumble across this story on freenet and the hidden internet, the deepwebs, the dark side, chaos, panic, disorder, dismay, etc. etc. etc...
Pretty much the idea behind freenet is it's another 'net, completely seperate from the internet and completely untrackable, making it more like the dial-up BBS's of yore and insuring complete anonymity for posters.
The author of the article went on to insinuate all sorts of horrible things were afoot: child porn, terrorist organizations, overthrowing small governments, how to kill your neighbor, etc. etc. etc.
So after some playing around, I get on and find.....
Some old 80's playboy scans, someone outing their local pedophile, a page celebrating Hitler's Birthday (4:20 for those who don't know), and the rest were sites extolling the virtue's of one's favorite role-playing character.
Ah, ancient internet, how I missed thee...
throw in an argument over whether one could use pink as an accent for goth attire or is blue more suitable and I'll feel downright nostalgic... |

So, we're in a bookstore. I'm browsing books and Pat's swiped a book on sex positions and is browsing tush.
I look for awhile and then go find him. He's grinning like a madman. (Of course.)
Me: You know, with our backs, half of that's impossible.

Him: OK, we're going to go. The next page I open to, we'll do. closes eyes. flips book. opens to....turns beet red OMG they have threesome positions in here?!

Howdy, everyone else!
and, an open letter to NASA because I wouldn't know where to send it:
Dear Sirs,
It is my greatest honor to see you have taken interest in my fanfiction. I can only assume that you are reviewing it as an entertainment option for our brave astronauts and their associates.
When I was a very small child, I too wanted to be an astronaut (to make ET get better, of course) but my life's path has shifted and I find myself cooking and writing. It is something I am content with, but still...
Something I created is being beamed to the stars, and it is my greatest honor to know that my fanfic is being used to increase astronaut morale.
In return, I would like to do something for you. I know my plate is full with the Lucius/Hermione Exchange, the 2ndGenDarkfic Exchange, Weasleyfest, and Hermione Big Bang, not to mention Azkatraz and the complete rewrite of Marriage Law, but I will always have time to serve my country if asked.
Do you have any requests? Are the astronauts into Granger/Snape or are they more AS/S men?
Should I look for an interpreter? Is this what all the mysterious Russian friendings are about? How do they like Marriage Law?

OK, so after hearing several people's LJ's are bing monitored by the Government, I decided to get a stat counter of my own out of curiosity.
Since I do write underage fiction I can see why I could be monitored. There are weirdos out there that don't understand the difference between fantasy and reality.
After years of hearing and dealing with people, there are certain departments I expect to be monitoring me.
Dept. Of Justice, sure.
Homeland Security, sure.
Immigration and Naturalization, sure.
But, NASA?!
Are you fucking JOKING?!
I like Big Bang Theory a lot, you guys, but seriously!
Unless Sheldon Cooper really exists and is secretly reading my journal.
